While the rest of the state is hunting for their ONE sweater, Gateway to Hope (Ocala, FL) volunteers are on the job. Florida’s version of an extreme blizzard (a 45-degree sunny morning) might make headlines, but it doesn’t stop this team!
Case in point: Jeff (Box man), Tyrone and Christine.
An Orlando native, Tyrone is dressed like “Nanook of the North” and is still chilled to the bone. Yet, here he is, because Gateway to Hope (Ocala, FL) volunteers show up whether it’s blazing heat, a surprise downpour, or the great statewide sweater hunt.
Jeff was just stomping boxes in the dumpster to make room for more recycling—and, he admitted, to generate a little warmth.
Cristina has officially entered “Thermostat War” mode. She is rocking a layered-look (sweatshirt, scarf, hat) and is a woman fully prepared for the tundra. However, please know that her beautiful smile is 100% pure Florida sunshine!
Yes. We know hunger doesn’t check the thermostat or forecast!
Our volunteers faithfulness, be it “rain or shine” (or “rare Florida cold”) reflects God’s own steadfast love. Thank you volunteers for loving with your actions!
“Let us not love with words but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
