Dear Gateway to Hope Family,
With deep sadness, we share the passing of our beloved volunteer, James Leroy Sigmun, whose unwavering dedication and kindness touched countless lives. For years, James was the first face you met, as he faithfully guided vehicles into distribution lanes with patience, precision, and a warm smile. Rain or shine, he ensured that aid reached those in need, embodying the spirit of selflessness and community.
James was more than a volunteer—he was a friend, a steady presence, and a source of encouragement to all who knew him. His kindness and genuine care lifted spirits and made every day brighter. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived in service to others.
A Verse of Reflection:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
—1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
This verse perfectly captures James’s heart. He used his gifts generously, leaving a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire us.
Honoring His Memory:
In the coming weeks, we’ll share ways to honor James’s service, including a memorial tribute at our distribution center. If you’d like to contribute a memory or photo, please reply to this email—we’d love to gather stories of his impact.
For now, let us hold his family in prayer and remember the profound difference one faithful life can make. Thank you, James, for your tireless love. You will be deeply missed, but your light remains in the work we continue.
With gratitude and sorrow,
The Gateway to Hope Team
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
—Matthew 25:23
